Mrs. Davis, 4/5 Connections (Gifted & Talented)

Mrs. DavisMy name is Mrs. Davis and I am the 4th and 5th-grade Connections (GT) Teacher. I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and I'm GT certified. I've been teaching for 25 years. I'm very excited to have your child in my class. We're going to have a great year. The 4/5 Connections class is structured in that it integrates Social Studies, Language Arts, and Reading, therefore we'll be working on these subjects during a block schedule. There will be plenty of opportunities for students to enhance their learning through; skits, independent work, research, presentations, the use of multimedia, group work and a lot of collaboration. I like for my students to enjoy learning and to always be engaged through technology, research, and designing different products. Students will learn to always use the writing process for all writing pieces. This is where they will brainstorm, prewrite, draft, edit, and revise all their writing pieces. They will also learn to plan and work on independent projects known as parallels and present them to the class. All work must be quality work and parents are asked to help their child by proofreading their work with them, to guide and encourage them to turn in typed and neatly painted or colored products.
