Hello! I'm Amanda Vidal, I am the of the PPCD
teachers here at Guerrero. I'm so excited to get to know all of the students.
I am a graduate from the University of Texas of El Paso. I received my Bachelor's in Language and Linguistics and my Master's in Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities. I am a certified in Special Education EC-12, and also General Education EC-4th. This is my second year as a teacher in Special Education. I have worked with children with special needs for 4 years as a teacher's assistant in California and Texas.
In my classroom we follow a modified Pre-k/Kindergarten curriculum to suit the needs of each student. We also focus on functional skills, socials skills, and teach positive social behaviors. I believe that children learn best when they are smiling, laughing, and are excited to be at school. I enjoy working with children and seeing their academic growth throughout the year.
It is important that I develop and keep an open communication with parents. If you need to contact me please feel free to call 915-231-2680. My conference period is 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
